Like how your insurance card, My Number card, or the chart and consultation ticket at the hospital become your personal identification, symbolic information takes priority over what’s real. In a society where so much information flies around and mixes together, reality–with all its changes and uncertainties–is dismissed, and unchanging, ever-consistent symbols are treated as information. Symbols take precedence over reality. In this age when anything and everything can be copied, I want to observe our changing and inconsistent reality down to its details. When everything is interchangeable and every value diluted, I want to recreate the reality of things which have grown difficult to see.
